Youth
Are loved here
Welcome to Boston Avenue Youth!
At Boston Avenue UMC, we invite youth to think theologically, grow spiritually, and love generously in an setting made just for them. Boston Avenue Youth Ministry seeks to be a welcoming and inclusive space for all youth, no matter what life journey they are on!
We host age-appropriate opportunities for Middle School (6th – 8th grade) and High School (9th -12th grade) aged youth throughout the year. Our hope is to partner with your family to help your youth become followers of Jesus who help to transform the world around them.

Middle School & High School events
Our team recognizes that middle school and high school students are in different places developmentally and in terms of their faith formation. That’s why our youth program offers separate, age-appropriate activities for middle- and high-school-aged students.
Sunday Mornings
After worshipping at our 9:00 a.m. service, we host small group time for both Middle School (3rd Floor) and High School (4th Floor) youth, led by an amazing team of trained adult volunteers.
Each week, we’ll dive into the Bible to study how our faith informs the way we live. During our discussion time, youth get to ask and respond to thought-provoking questions that challenge us all to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Oh, and we almost forgot to mention…we have donuts every week! 🍩
Wednesday Nights
Join us on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. throughout the school year for DTBA — our mid-week youth group time!
Each week is a new and exciting experience. From interfaith events, to Bible studies, community service projects, justice-oriented initiatives or worship nights, each DTBA is a fresh way to encounter how God is at work in our lives and in the world. Join us for this great opportunity to connect with God and one another in memorable ways.
Confirmation
Sixth graders study together every Sunday morning during Sunday School to prepare for Confirmation Sunday in the spring. Confirmands are paired with a “Friend in Faith”, a faith model and mentor from the church community.
Confirmation studies are also open to older middle school youth who may not have participated in confirmation during their sixth grade year.
For more information about confirmation contact our Faith Formation team at 918.699.0123.
Music
At Boston Avenue, we see music and the creative arts as a gateway to experiencing and connecting with God. Youth are invited to participate in the Chapel Choir, which sings every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and the Handbells, which plays periodically. To learn more about Chapel Choir or Handbells, click here!
Summers
Even though school is out for summer, the fun doesn’t stop for Boston Avenue Youth Ministries! We have so many ways to stay connected. While the schedule may be different than during the school year, it is no less impactful on our youth’s faith formation.
Some of the summer events include:
• Chapel Choir Tour (singing tour to an out-of-state destination)
• Egan Youth Camp (summer camp)
• The Great Unknown (a week of surprise fun, faith, and mission events)
• Volunteering at VBS
• And more…
