Word of the Week, April 12: Inspiring

You missed an inspiring worship experience if you were not in the sanctuary last Sunday at 11:00 a.m., when our confirmands stood up and stepped into the church of their own accord! Then, we recognized our fifty-year members standing beside our newest members. Christian faith and life are passed from generation to generation. This is one of the ways we share the faith with others. Thanks to all the staff, leaders, and parents who were instrumental in making this a meaningful experience for our young people!

For our Easter season, the sermon series is Resurrection Living. This Sunday, reading from Luke 24:36b-48, we encounter the story of Jesus appearing to the disciples and bidding them “Peace.” It vividly describes their struggle to incorporate this new reality into their hearts and minds. It gives us a chance to examine where we are in our own Christian life. I think you will be able to identify with these first disciples in our sermon Disbelieving and Still Wondering.

I am having a great time teaching in our adult Sunday School classes. If you are not connected with one of our Sunday morning classes, I would love to help you learn about this powerful opportunity to pray, study, and have fellowship and support in a smaller group within our church family. Talk with me or Reverend EvaMarie Campbell or any of our staff and we would be delighted to help you get connected. Our classes meet from 9:50 to 10:50 each Sunday morning.
