Word of the Week: Fun
“Time flies when you are having fun!” I must be having loads of fun, for these last several months have been a bountiful blur! Such great worship, wonderful classes, and intergenerational events! Between now and the end of the year there are more marvelous events for you to participate in—everything from special music in worship these next several Sundays, to new adult classes and studies, to Dr. Robert P. Jones (our former lecturer) being in town this week! Don’t miss out, find a place to plug-in now!
Characteristics of Faithful Living continues this week in the Book of Ruth. We will read Ruth 3:1-5 which extends the story we started last Sunday. This piece focuses on Ruth and Naomi seeking security in a male-dominated society in terms of physical safety and economic support. Join us as we consider their fate and how it can speak to us in the sermon Security.
You hear me talk about our Sistema after-school music program and maybe even volunteer or contribute to support this fine effort. On Sunday, we will get to hear from some of the kids as they come to play in worship. I hope you will be here to hear them offer their gifts to us.
We will be recognizing our veterans in worship on Sunday. If you are a veteran, we hope you will be here for worship at 9:00 or 11:00. If you know a veteran, consider inviting them to join us for this significant recognition of their service. I will hope to see you on Sunday.
