Tulsa Theatre Works Presents Annie

Annie is coming to Boston Avenue! 65 kids and adults of all ages are participating as part of the cast, crew, and orchestra.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations… and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

This show will be directed by Robert Allen Young. Young has been performing, directing, and producing material in the Tulsa theatre scene for several years. He studied at The University of Tulsa, earning his BSBA and MBA in Management Information Systems, and is currently working as Director of Customer Care at Saltus Technologies.

Young says, “I am thrilled to get the opportunity to return to Boston Avenue in a new role as director of Tulsa Theatre Works’ Annie, after last joining the ensemble of Broadway at Boston Avenue’s The Music Man in 2010. One of the most rewarding parts of directing Annie is watching this talented cast bring these beloved characters to life. Their energy, dedication, and heart are what make this production truly special. In this production, audiences can expect an evening filled with laughter, heart, and some of the most recognizable songs in musical theatre. Whether you’ve seen Annie dozens of times or it’s your first experience, there’s something magical about watching this story unfold live.”

Join us for performances running July 24, July 25, July 26, July 31, August 1, and August 2. Get your tickets today at http://bit.ly/TTWAnnie.
