Rev. Wiggs WOTW June 23, 2023
Summer fun and summer heat have arrived! I hope you are staying cool and experiencing joy/fun, so far this summer! Join us for worship at 9:00, 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. throughout the season. We would love to share worship, fellowship, and joy with you at Boston Avenue!
One more week in our sermon series The Lord Speaks. Reverend Kathy Morris will preach this week at 9:00 and 11:00. Buster Hall will preach at 13th Street. Working from Job 38:1-11 we will explore this story of God interacting with Job and his friends. We hope you will find your place in one of our worship experiences this week either in person or online.
This will be Reverend Morris’ last Sunday with us as a staff member at Boston Avenue. We will have a brief reception in the Parlor for her after the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship experiences. If you can come by in person that would be wonderful, but also feel free to send greetings via card or email to thank her for her service to us and our congregation these last two years. We will still see her some Sundays, as she and her husband Richard, will remain in the metro area for their retirement.
Remember: Pray for our campers this summer. This week our Sonshine Campers (1st and 2nd graders) get their first taste of overnight camp at Egan. Plus our Volunteer-In-Mission McCurdy group will be returning at the end of the week, I hope you have been praying for them as well.

Prior to the summer, the Administrative Board charged a specially appointed workgroup to recommend creative ideas to better our church’s position to do even more toward improving our financial capacity to meet our church’s mission and core values.
It’s been a difficult season for the United Methodist Church in Oklahoma.
