Rev. Wiggs Word of the Week
Summer is upon us. Chapel Choir Tour kicked off our special summer activities for our families with kids last week. This week, we have youth campers at Egan Camp and Retreat Center and in our Sistema Camp here at the church building. We invite you to remember all our young people in your prayers as they engage in these super summer faith formation opportunities. May God bless you as you pray for God’s blessings upon them.
In worship we are exploring a variety of ways Scripture represents God speaking. In this series, The Lord Speaks, this week we turn to Ezekiel 17:22-24. Ezekiel is one of the prophets writing during the Babylonian exile, but in this passage, God is speaking. The sermon title, A Poem from the Lord reflects a change from prose to poetry in this portion. Join us for worship as we examine this poem for the insights, challenges, and assurances it carries for us.
All three of our worship services continue to meet throughout the summer. 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. meet in the sanctuary with traditional liturgy and hymns. Or, join us at 10:00 a.m. in Community Hall with an informal flow and Communion each week with the music led by our 13th Street Band. Come and fill your place!
Sunday School for all ages continues each week from 9:50-10:40 a.m. throughout the building. If you are not a part of one of our many great Sunday School classes (which span the life spectrum), let us help you arrange a visit to see what you are missing. We would love to help you get connected!
