Births

Our faith community would love to celebrate the good news of your growing family! If you have recently had a baby or adopted a child, please call the church at 918.583.5181 to let us know. An announcement will be placed in our weekly newspaper, and our Faith Formation team will provide a small gift.

Illnesses

If you are facing illness, our Minister of Pastoral Care, along with members of our Congregational Care Ministry, are available to visit you or your loved one in the hospital. However, we can’t visit if we don’t know that you are in the hospital – contact our pastoral care team at 918.699.0147 so that we can provide you with support and care!

Deaths

Losing a loved one can be an incredibly difficult and emotional experience. At Boston Avenue, we understand the pain of grief and are here to offer support and comfort during your grief journey. Our Minister of Pastoral Care is available to help families plan and organize the service arrangements, and we offer a range of resources and support services for those who are grieving.

Baptisms

Within the United Methodist church, we view the sacrament of baptism as the “ordinary” or “instituted” means of justifying grace. It is a means of grace by which God saves and claims us. Baptism is available to all who have not been previously baptized, including adults. Learn more about baptism in the United Methodist Church.

Confirmation

Confirmation is another important step in faith formation. United Methodists use the term confirmation to mark the first time a baptized Christian publicly “confirms” their intention to live the vows of the baptismal and membership covenant. To prepare young people in the church for confirmation, we offer a year of programming that focuses on the United Methodist faith.
