The Gathering is a monthly event (usually on the third Wednesday of the month) featuring a guest speaker. Designed with older adults in mind, this program fosters fellowship and connection, while exploring fun and interesting topics.
This month's session of The Gathering will be a hands-on activity! Join us this coming Wednesday, October 21 at 11:30 a.m. as Amber Spaeth leads us in making care packages for our college students. Lunch from Jason's Deli is available for $10 per person with RSVP.

Due to heavy rain in the forecast for tomorrow morning, we’ve decided to cancel our Boston Avenue on the Bus trip to the Botanic Gardens, originally scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
We hope to see you next Wednesday for our next Adult Connexion activity, The Gathering!

Fall Festival is coming up! Join us in Unity Park on Sunday, October 25, from noon to 2 p.m. for an afternoon of fun for the whole family.

We still need extra helping hands for Saturday's ramp building project! Can you help?
Join us Saturday, October 17th, as we partner with INCOG to build a wheelchair ramp for a family in need. We will build and install the ramp from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the recipient’s home (address supplied upon registration).
All skill levels and ages are welcome (under 18 will require parent/guardian supervision). Sign up today at bit.ly/RampBuilding

The second Wednesday of each month is Boston Avenue on the Bus, where we meet at the church to travel to a different site for fellowship, education, exploration, and enrichment!
Join us this coming Wednesday (October 14) for this month's adventure with Boston Avenue on the Bus - we will meet on the Boston Avenue south parking lot at 9:30 a.m. to take the bus for a "BOOtanic" Botanic Gardens Tour led by our own Jeff Fox. Tickets - $5 for Seniors, $10 for Adults (NO CASH)

🍎 The apples have been picked, and the gifts are making their way back!
If you picked an apple from the Burroughs Apple Tree, don’t forget to return your requested items to the Apple Tree table in Bishops’ Hall by Thursday, October 15. Your gifts provide classroom supplies for the students and teachers at John Burroughs Elementary School.

If you could slow down, pay attention, and notice where faith is showing up in your everyday life, would you? Writing can be a way to do just that!
Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring writing as a spiritual practice and devotional writing as a way to share what we notice with others.
We’ll look at examples of devotionals, explore questions and prompts to help you find your own stories and reflections, and spend some time writing together. We’ll also offer a quick overview of Boston Avenue UMC’s devotional writing guide and share how you can get involved in writing devotionals for the church.
Two opportunities to participate (both sessions will be held in the Aldersgate Room)
