Angels All Around Us
By Debbie Peterson
A few months ago, one of our Boston Avenue Mid-High students inquired of me about doing something to help the families at Pearl’s Hope, inspired by a reading assignment over the summer. We discussed a few options and decided that purchasing new shoes for the youth would be an excellent way to show love – and who doesn’t like back to school new shoes. Through social media, and in about 24 hours, enough money was raised for her to purchase six pairs of shoes. Without this project of love, the six may still be wearing old and outgrown shoes. Raegan, you are an angel, we can all follow your lead.
This Sunday, our Circle of Care Angel Tree will be ready in Bishops’ Hall and on Amazon through our website, giving you, the people of Boston Avenue, the opportunity to be an angel. No need for wings or a halo; service to God and a guardian of others will allow you the title. Stop by and choose an angel or two (or even three!) and purchase the listed item. Our tree has gifts for the children and moms at Pearl’s Hope and Tulsa foster children.
Let’s all be like Raegan and be a guardian of others by making Christmas memorable and bright.
