Welcome to Boston Avenue Adults!

One of our core values at Boston Avenue Church is that we “See Spiritual Growth as a Lifelong Journey.” It is our goal to offer a variety of faith formation opportunities for people of all ages and stages of life. You’re never too old or too young to grow in faith at Boston Avenue UMC!

Sunday Mornings

In addition to worship, our adult Sunday School classes are held every Sunday morning. Boston Avenue has a long tradition of Sunday School classes as a source of faith formation, fellowship, and opportunities to serve the community.

Our adult classes represent a wide range of ages and experiences. We have larger classes who enjoy a lecture format and smaller classes that provide opportunity for discussion. All of our meeting spaces are equipped with Zoom technology so that you can participate from anywhere! We encourage you to visit any classes you find interesting to find the one right for you. All classes meet on Sunday mornings from 9:50 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. For more information, please contact Rev. EvaMarie Campbell at 918.699.0120.

Studies & Discipleship Classes

Want to fuel your spiritual journey? Want to connect with others in faith formation? Join one of our classes!

At Boston Avenue, we cultivate a reasoned approach to faith and scripture. We are invited to use our think, learn, and reflect as we grow in faith through various studies and classes.

Check out our events page or please contact Rev. EvaMarie Campbell at 918.699.0120 to learn about upcoming studies!

Small Groups

The best way to get involved at Boston Avenue is to join a small group within the church! These groups include Sunday School classes, music groups, discipleship study opportunities, and our UMM (United Methodist Men) and UWF (United Women in Faith). There are also special interest groups and fellowship opportunities for young adults and senior adults and committees that focus on missions, interfaith relations and other social issues. Any of our ministers would be happy to help you find the group that suits your particular interests!

Wednesday Activities

Each Wednesday, Boston Avenue offers activities for adults (especially retired and older adults) to have new experiences, learn new things, and have fun with others! Would you like to join in?  You’re welcome here!

Boston Avenue Book Reviews

Adults of all ages are invited to the Aldersgate Room or via Zoom (meeting ID: 853 9236 0033; passcode: 1301) on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. to enjoy a book review, followed by a time of conversation about the topics raised. Whether you have read the book or not, this is a great time of fellowship and learning!

Boston Avenue “On the Bus”

On the second Wednesday of each month, we meet at the church to travel to a different site for fellowship, education, exploration, and enrichment! Times and cost will vary according to where we are going. Past destinations have included the Tulsa Botanic Garden, the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art, Tulsa’s Gathering Place park, and The Abbey Mausoleum (where Adah Robinson is interred).

“The Gathering”

Join us on the third Wednesday of the month in the Asbury Room or via Zoom at 11:30 a.m. to enjoy a catered lunch and program. (You can also bring your own lunch!) Speakers cover topics such as travel, the arts, health and wellness issues, legal advice, singalongs, bunko parties, and more! This event is especially designed for our older members. Bring a friend! Food reservations are required; contact Alexandria Rogers at 918.699.0123.

Monthly Movie Club

Enjoy a feature film, popcorn, drink, and fellowship in our comfy theater room – No cost! Our movie club meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Contact Rev. EvaMarie Campbell at 918.699.0120 for more information on our upcoming features.

We look forward to seeing you soon at the movies!
