Our 6th, 7th-8th, and Senior High Youth Camps and Activities are meant to challenge and inspire youth on their faith journey.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Registration deadline for all Conference Camps is May 15, 2010 (or when the camp fills up, whichever comes first) – Please DO NOT register through the Conference Office, as it will affect your cost.
  • Boston Avenue Church will pay half of the cost of ONE camp for our church members.
  • LIT credit can be used, but must be requested. LIT accounts must have adequate balance to cover camp fees, or cash payment of balance is required.
  • One check, payable to "Boston Avenue Church," may be written to pay for all of the camps.
  • All registration fees must be paid in full prior to camp starting.
  • Only ONE Official Transportation and Medical Release Form needs to be completed for each participant regardless of how many camps he/she is enrolled in.

June 7-11 (Code: 2103) at Canyon Camp — For rising 6th-8th graders
Would you like to develop your leadership skills as a mid-high youth? J.E.M. Camp is designed specifically with junior high youth in mind. It is the goal of this camp to develop leadership skills that can be used immediately. Leadership skills will be discovered through group dynamics, low rope elements, individual reflection and small group process. J.E.M. has many unique events including a spectacular banquet. PLEASE NOTE: Must be recommended by youth director and willing to be active in our youth ministry programs. A completed ropes course form is also required for this camp.
Cost: $250

 

Dance & Art Camp: “Unleash Your Creative Spirit”

Come “Unleash Your Creative Spirit” with us. Enjoy dance: such as stomp, ballet, jazz, modern, liturgical and more; hands on art such as clay, Tye Dye, recycle art, candle making, leather tooling, duct tape art and more.

Each day brings new opportunities. Pack your bags and come live at Boston Avenue for a few days. During this camp you will participate in hands-on missions that make a difference in the Tulsa community. Each evening we will celebrate the day with fun activities and late night festivities. Living together at the church will help you make new friends and grow closer together as a Boston Avenue family.
Cost: $50 for Boston Avenue members, $100 for non-members

Closing Concert for everyone on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
Campers will learn and perform choral music of the highest quality appropriate for their age level. Children will also develop camaraderie and artistic skills by enjoying drama, art, and handbell classes, plus a wide variety of recreational activities – swimming, bowling, etc.
Cost: $75 (covers lunch & materials)

 

6th Grade Camp: “God Is in Our Midst”

“God Is in Our Midst” encourages campers to find God in our everyday surroundings, our natural world and the communities they form. Campers engage in creek hikes, swimming, canoeing, worship, small groups, nature exploration and crafts.
Cost: $107 for Boston Avenue members, $214 for non-members

7th – 12th Youth Force OKC 2010

June 6-11 in Oklahoma City (housing at OCU)
— For rising 7th-12th graders
Whether it’s giving a home a new coat of paint, fixing a leaky faucet, or sharing the love of Jesus with elderly and disadvantaged families in our state, youth and adults will be united in mission this summer at Youth Force. Registration fee includes all meals, lodging for Sunday evening through Friday morning, project supplies and expenses, recreation, worship, training materials, and a Youth Force t-shirt.
Registrations are processed in a first come, first served basis and spots fill quickly.
Cost: $185 (includes lunch on the way home)

This camp is a unique, seven day, six night adventure to create a Christian community while living in the out-of-doors. It is a challenging adventure to develop personal skills; specifically: how to listen to others, how to express your own needs and ideas, how to care for the group, and how to make group decisions.

C.Y.M.E. Camp

— For rising 9th graders - just-graduated seniors
CYME is serious business with non-stop intensity and excitement. It will push you to the limits of Christian community, leadership skills, discipleship, peer ministry and hearing your call in Christ. In addition to the ropes course, we will also be learning how to rappel. Eligible youth for C.Y.M.E. may be local church youth leaders/officers, C.Y.M.E. youth members (Conference Council on Youth Ministries), District youth leaders/officers, or youth members of District or Conference Design Teams. Otherwise, any other youth that come MUST be pastor or youth worker recommended.

Senior High Trek: Boundary Waters

July 1-10 in the Boundary Waters
between the United States and Canada
— For rising 10th-12th graders
This camp is a unique ten-day, nine-night canoe/camping adventure into the Canoe Area of the Boundary Waters Wilderness. It’s a land of forests, rivers, deep clear lakes, wildlife, and unsurpassed natural beauty that stretches for nearly 160 miles between Minnesota and Ontario.
Each group of six youth and two adult campers will prepare their own meals, camp sites and activities in the beautiful lake country. Nature is our classroom and youth will learn many things, among them: how to cook out-of-doors, read a compass, manage a low-impact camp, and maneuver a canoe and portage across distances.
Cost: $500
Registration Deadline: May 15, 2010.
Limited to the first 12 who register and pay. Max. 4 per church.

Anytown, Oklahoma

— For rising 10th-12th graders
An outstretched hand, a friendly face. From another creed, another race. These are the things we have by grace at Anytown, our Anytown. The Anytown model, which began in Arizona in 1957, focuses on listening to the hopes, fears, frustrations, and dreams of young Americans. Anytown Oklahoma, which began in 1994 is sponsored by over 35 regions of the Oklahoma Conference for Community and Justice (locally), and are recognized as one of the more effective human relations and leadership training programs for youth in the United States.
Cost: $300; some scholarships available
To be selected for this camp, you must apply and have a letter of nomination from an adult who is familiar with you. Application Deadline is June 1, 2010. Anytown can accept up to 70 students.
