The high school years are ones of change as young people begin to make more of their own choices and life paths. Boston Avenue's Senior High Youth Ministry for 9th through 12th Graders strives to provide activities and ministries that are both cool and life-changing, in positive ways. Our goal is to provide a place for you to learn of God's great love for you, to share this love with others, and to find your purpose in life.
We invite high school students to join us and become a part of our social interactions, small groups, missions, music and drama groups, Reconciliation Council Ministries, and retreats and camps while learning biblical principles for life. Check out our Senior High Calendar for 2008-09!
Bring your friends and join us on our journey!
Senior High Sunday School is held on Sunday mornings from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. on the fourth floor of the main building. All senior high first meet in Room 420 for refreshments, announcements, joys and concerns, and then break into smaller classes.
Since the interests and needs of youth are so diverse, we offer a choice of classes at 9:40 a.m. Class sizes are limited, so first choices are not always available, but we make every effort to work with each youth to get the class that best suits his or her interests and needs.
Youth are asked to make a commitment to attend a specific class for each session. That commitment is important to the youth and leaders of the class. Facilitators use United Methodist Curriculum in these option-based classes. Each class is designed to help youth in their journey of faith.
Social Interactions
Senior High Youth meet as needed for special service projects and fellowship events on Sunday afternoons or evenings. Regular youth meetings are held on Wednesday evenings. The focus is to have fun while encouraging genuine caring and Christian fellowship. Genuine fellowship includes sharing the LOVE and GRACE of God with each other.

DTBA (Downtown Boston Avenue or
Dare To Be Alive in Christ)
A midweek faith break that meets Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on the fourth floor.
Life is a journey! Come and be a part of a community that shares your struggles and celebrates your victories! Each week we will have a time for fellowship, but will focus on helping you grow and be challenged in your relationship with God!
Life After High School Lunches
Lunches primarily for parents and upperclassmen focusing on the opportunities and challenges for students beyond high school. They happen the last Sunday of the month in Room 420 during January through April. Reservations for lunch will be required in advance. Non-Boston Avenue youth and families are always welcome. Contact Audra Fogle, Senior High Youth Director, at 699.0130 for more information.

Senior High Small Groups
Imagine laughing and talking about your week while working on a beaded necklace. Or, playing a full throttle game of basketball and then sitting down with your Christian brothers to talk about where your faith was challenged during the week. Maybe you are looking for a group to engage in a serious Bible study? Groups meet once a month for approximately 1 1/2 hours-2 hours and select their own topics to study with their leaders. It will be the highlight of your week!!!

Ongoing Mission Projects
Prayer Bears - Bears are shared as an outreach of Christ's love and support of Boston Avenue to those in need of a special hug. New stuffed animals can be donated at any time.
Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless - Our youth serve the evening meal for the people at the Day Center for the Homeless several times each year. We begin cooking in the Boston Avenue main kitchen in the afternoon and then serve the meal at 5:00. Serving at the Day Center is an opportunity to stay connected to people in need here in our local community. Other opportunities for service at the Day Center include: working in the clothing room, serving daytime snacks, playing games with children, and helping repackage toiletries.

Reconciliation Council Ministries
TEEN TRIALOGUE
Our Annual Youth Interfaith Trialogue Series brings together teens from the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim faith traditions for focused discussions on religion. Typically held in late February through early March, the Teen Trialogue Series provides an opportunity for high school students from the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faith traditions to meet in consecutive sessions to learn about other religions. In the process, participants strengthen their own faiths and develop new friendships. Each of the sessions focuses on a specific topic. More than 40 of our Boston Avenue Youth participate in this special opportunity.

OCCJ's 26th Annual Youth Interfaith Tour, (date TBA)
