BA Organ Pipes

Our current organ was purchased in 1961 and built by M. P. Möller Company of Hagerstown, Maryland. In 1986, the organ was enlarged to 73 stops, 105 ranks, and 5,869 pipes including the Trompette-en-Chamade located in the ceiling above the balcony. The organ has seven organ chambers and is currently valued at over one million dollars.

Music Ministries at BA

Music ministry has played a critical role in the development of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church since its founding in 1893. Literally thousands of choristers have faithfully shared their gifts and served with distinction over the years. Although some have moved on to enjoy success as professional musicians, all have developed skills and enjoyed blessings that have profoundly enriched their lives. At Boston Avenue Church, music ministers learn . . .

1. To reflect the power and beauty of God’s presence,
2. To develop new skills and employ them in future performances,
3. To grow technically in their performance area(s),
4. To create passionate, Christ-centered communities, and
5. To develop a deep love for the liturgy, songs, and traditions of our faith.

Boston Avenue’s music program offers people of all ages a wide spectrum of opportunities. Whether it's singing in large or small choirs, playing in instrumental ensembles, ringing in handbell ensembles, or performing in the visual arts . . . all of these opportunities and much more are available to members of music ministry at Boston Avenue Church.
