Each year, Boston Avenue's Volunteer-In-Mission Subcommittee selects VIM team members from submitted applications for life-changing missions throughout the United States and the world!
Those chosen attend extensive orientation sessions in preparation for their mission of sharing God's love through word and deed. Their mission trip costs are underwritten in part by the mission endowment earnings, and they are also responsible for presenting reports to the church about their experience.
Past VIM missions have included medical, construction, and/or Vacation Bible School teams to South Africa, Costa Rica, Slovakia, Jamaica, Alaska, Mexico, and Bolivia as well as construction missions to the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana and Biloxi, Mississippi. The Oklahoma United Methodist Church has had a covenant relationship with Bolivia for more than 70 years.
Our most recent VIM mission was to Nicaragua in October 2010. While there, the team did construction work and headed a Vacation Bible School. Stay tuned for information about their trip!

the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Senior High Youth Mission Trips
Each year Boston Avenue Senior High Youth attend missions to various locations. These missions form an important impression on them as they experience life very different from their own and serve God by serving others.
