Boston Avenue offers a variety of Adult Sunday School Classes for many age levels and areas of interest. Leaders use a variety of learning activities to challenge and nurture persons in the Christian faith.
Our adult classes represent a wide variety of experiences. We have larger classes who enjoy a lecture format and smaller classes that provide opportunity for discussion. We encourage you to visit any classes you find interesting to find the one right for you!
BA Adult Sunday School Classes
Boston Avenue 101 - a four-week class for prospective and new members, offered once a quarter. Curriculum covers basics of the Christian faith, United Methodism, and Boston Avenue Church.
Pastor's Bible Class - a verse-by-verse study of the Bible for adults of all ages, taught by Dr. Mouzon Biggs, Jr. Senior Minister.
Young Adult - a class for 18-23 year olds. Students are welcome any time they're in town. In the Summer of 2007, we meet beginning June 3 in the Youth Lounge of the Jubilee Center with Meloyde Scott and Amanda Roth teaching
New Frontiers Class - a class for young couples in their twenties and thirties who enjoy social activities and mission projects.
Horizons Class - mid-size class of young adults, both singles and couples, in their late 20's and 30's, both with and without children. Frequent social activities.
Disciples Class - primarily couples in their 30's and 40's, most with young children. Varied study topics and discussion. A caring fellowship with regular social and outreach activities.

Maranatha Class - larger class of couples and singles, primarily in their 40's, involved with their professions and families. Mission oriented. Lecture and discussion classes in a setting of caring fellowship, and monthly social activities.

Faithlink Class - led by class members, this group studies different contemporary topics each week using the United Methodist curriculum "FaithLink: Connecting Faith and Life" which centers around core biblical passages. Adults of all ages.
Seek and Discover Class - a class for all ages, single and married, which features regular Bible study with class discussion and regular class socials.
Pilgrimage Class - primarily couples in their 40's and 50's with children. Wide range of topics, including theological investigation, social concerns, and family living, allow members to question, challenge, and better understand our faith in the world.
Heritage Class - family-oriented couples and singles around age 50. Primary leadership comes from class members. Topics include Bible study, social concerns, and family living.
Roundtable Class - persons who are "forever 50." Wide range of study topics presented primarily through discussion and lecture. Regular social and outreach activities.

Homebuilders Class - for late 40's and above. Lecture and discussion centers on the Adult Bible Studies series and is led by a panel of teachers.
New Covenant Class - larger class of couples and singles age 60 and above. Teachers use Adult Bible Studies curriculum and other biblically-based resources.
Wesley Fellowship Class - large class for couples and singles in their late 60's and above. Study topics are chiefly biblical, with lecture and discussion. Periodic social events.
Ephphatha Class - composed of hearing-impaired adults, with the Bible taught through sign language. Fellowship opportunities.
Cornerstone - Primarily couples in their 20's and 30's with or without children. The class, filled with friendly, welcoming people, offers a great opportunity to get to know other young people in the church. Insightful lecture and discussion classes allow for a thorough exploration of Christianity and the Methodist Church.
