Please contact Director of Middle School Ministries Debbie Peterson, 918.699.0124 if you have any questions regarding our 6th Grade programs.

6th Grade is a very busy year for Boston Avenue youth as they take the important step of confirmation into the church.

This year includes Sunday School, "Confirmands in Action," Summer and Fall Programs, and tons of available Camps and Special Activities.

BAUMC Senior High Sunday SchoolWhat is Confirmation? Confirmation is our Sixth Grade Sunday School and youth program. It is for our sixth graders and families. Included in this program are Sunday morning classes, monthly fellowship events, service projects, a retreat, being matched with an adult mentor called a Friend in Faith, and classes designed for parents and youth. The Confirmation Journey is designed for many different experiences to help in your faith journey.

Confirmation Class 2008-09

BA's 2008 Confirmation Class Begins Its Journey.

CIA “Confirmands in Action”
Our mid-week youth ministry for Confirmands is offered on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Sixth graders are encouraged to attend and be part of this fellowship. Tween curriculum that includes service projects and social issues is included in this action-based hour.

Confirmation is a year-long journey beginning the first Sunday in June. Confirmation includes Sunday morning classes, Wednesday evening CIA “Confirmands in Action,” monthly fellowship events, service projects, worship, trips, and a fall retreat at Camp Egan.

Summer Program
We meet in Jubilee Hall during the summer months from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. Dress is casual and a new challenge meets our students every week.

Fall Program
Our formal classes begin on “Great Day at BA,” August 22, 2010, when we move to the third floor confirmation suite. Our curriculum team has a rotation set of classes designed to take our students on a journey through the church year to help prepare our young people for making their decision to become members of the church. Confirmation Sunday is Sunday, November 14, 2010! This is not the end of the journey, however; only a step in the process. The remainder of 2010 Sunday School classes will cover mission projects and Advent and Christmas. January through May includes one Sunday a month with mentors, one with parents and a rotation of guest speakers that includes our church staff and ministers.

Who is in charge of Confirmation? Debbie Peterson, Director of Mid-High Youth and Confirmation oversees this ministry. Confirmation is led by parents and other interested volunteers under Debbie’s leadership. If you are interested in helping, please call Debbie at 918.699.0124.

Enrollment Requirements
Confirmation is designed for our sixth graders but other youth that have not yet been through Confirmation are offered the opportunity to be part of the class from August through Confirmation Sunday in November.

Sixth graders can join the class at anytime during the year. Confirmation is our sixth grade Sunday School and youth program. Call Debbie Peterson at 918.699.0124 if you have questions about being part of the class.
